The brief
In a sea of energy companies trying to be warm and fuzzy with cute mascots, OVO Energy needed a brand relaunch that punched above their weight (and their media spend) to dial up brand recognition.
The Idea
A new creative platform Do Energy Differently, showing that OVO’s innovation and tech can help us all take charge of our energy rather than letting it control us.
The execution
A through the line campaign that anthropomorphises our energy, showing it (literally) running wild with power. Our TV ad ‘Power Struggle’ was shot 90% in camera with directors Réalité (and a lot of puppeteers), our wild appliances were then pulled through into DOOH and brought to life as mischievous flatmates in audio.
The Result
Ad of the day on Campaign, 5* on David Reviews, Thinkbox TV creativity shortlist, an uplift in brand recognition and consideration, and a new brand platform and behaviour the clients are using to develop new products and drive internal culture.
